“Violence Must Be Stopped: The Appeal of Giuseppe D’Agostino, the 23-year-old Stabbed in Pozzuoli”

“Those who were there that evening should speak up, the violent ones must be stopped.” This is the appeal made via social media by Giuseppe D’Agostino, the 23-year-old who was stabbed in the chest outside a nightclub in Pozzuoli last Saturday. Francesco Emilio Borrelli, a deputy of the Green Alliance – Left Party, made his message go viral by sharing it. The 23-year-old has woken up from a coma and is miraculously alive: the knife wound stopped two centimeters away from his heart and could have been fatal.

“As not everyone knows – writes the 23-year-old – last Saturday I found myself going to the Queen nightclub in Pozzuoli for the first time and I was stabbed in the chest with unparalleled brutality and for no reason other than a ‘look’ that was deemed excessive. I could have died for no reason. A night at the nightclub could have cost me my life. It is unthinkable that there are people who decide to leave their houses armed to the teeth. I do not understand the reason behind it, no one should arrogate themselves the right to decide on the life or death of another person. Those who were there that evening should speak up, the violent ones must be stopped.”

Having woken up from the coma, Giuseppe cannot understand the aggression he suffered, triggered by an excessive look, and the fact that the gang, armed with knives and baseball bats, not only is still on the run but could strike again. He then launches an appeal on social media and asks anyone who is able to provide information to transmit it to the investigators.

“I echo Giuseppe’s appeal – says deputy Borrelli – those who know must speak up. The attackers of the 23-year-old must be immediately identified and handed over to justice, they must pay their debt without any reduction in punishment. After a long prison sentence, we can think about rehabilitation plans. Those who carry knives want to kill.”
