Mastella: alle prime segnalazioni ho già nuovamente allertato le autorità competenti

Benevento. “Arriving in Benevento, we smelled a terrible stench, these bad odors haunt us, see what it is and free people from these omnipresent stenches”.

These are the words of Don Maurizio Patriciello, the parish priest of Parco Verde di Caivano, today in Benevento to receive the Tangredi journalism award, who sounded the alarm on the issue of the miasmas that in recent months have targeted some companies in the industrial area of Ponte Valentino.

Bad odors have been reported again in recent days by some citizens in the area of contrada Ponte Valentino and nearby areas.

“There is definitely something wrong – Don Patriciello adds – We must have the ability to have a wide vision. With one eye we must look at the local reality and with the other be attentive to what is happening around us because the world is now interconnected”.

Mayor Clemente Mastella also intervened on the subject: “Just yesterday I wrote again to Arpac, Asl and the Prosecutor’s Office regarding the citizens’ reports. I have already sent the municipal police for a reconnaissance. I know that the Prosecutor’s Office continues to investigate (note: an investigation is ongoing on the issue). However, I have been informed by Asi that operational tools will be installed within a few days to monitor these miasmas. Now we must wait”.
