Montesarchio. Vincenzo Avella, 59 years old, from Montesarchio, has been arrested for alleged drug trafficking. The local Carabinieri accused him, who was already known to the authorities. According to the investigators, it all started yesterday evening in Piazza La Garde, where a service against drug consumption and trafficking was taking place.
The military found some doses of hashish in the flowerbeds of the gardens, then they stopped and searched Avella, with negative results. The same happened at the end of the “visit” to his home, where a precision scale and some empty vacuum-sealed bags were found, also recovered from the garbage bags.
However, it was not the same in some dilapidated buildings near the 59-year-old’s house, where more doses of hashish and marijuana were found hidden behind a stone and along a staircase, weighing a total of 80 and 10 and a half grams.
Taken to the police station, Avella was arrested and placed under house arrest on the orders of prosecutor Chiara Maria Marcaccio. He appointed lawyer Mario Cecere as his defense attorney.
