Borrelli: “It is always necessary to report abuses, those who do not do so have something to hide”
The squatters have been evicted and the house has been returned to Mrs. Altamura in Via Stadera after Borrelli’s intervention: “If you want, results will come. It is always necessary to report abuses, those who do not do so have something to hide.”
Naples. The 75-year-old woman with a disabled son has finally been able to return to her home in Via Stadera. Last September, her house was illegally occupied by a group of Colombian citizens who, after obtaining the keys to the apartment from an acquaintance of the woman, entered her house and locked the front door with a padlock and bolt.
The deputy of the Green-Left alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, took care of the matter and, after receiving Mrs. Altamura’s request for help, publicly denounced the situation, calling for the intervention of the authorities to evict the squatters.
“This morning the squatters left, but they left everything in a mess and took some personal belongings of the woman, such as the television and the mattress,” comments Borrelli. “In any case, this story shows, after having freed 4-5 other illegally occupied apartments stolen from legitimate assignees, that if you want, results can be obtained. They are mainly obtained if those who suffer abuses report them, as this woman did after having her property taken away.”
Formally reporting the abuse, in addition to officially requesting the commitment of the institutions, is a form of guarantee of the seriousness and moral integrity of those who have suffered the wrong. It is always necessary to report.
