Trentola Ducenta (Caserta) – Raffaele Di Caprio, the 73-year-old man who, on Christmas day, was injured in the head by a gunshot while handling his legally owned weapon in his home on Via Tulipani, did not make it. After 22 days of hospitalization, he passed away. – continues below –
The man leaves behind his wife and three children. An only child, he had lost his mother Maria a month ago, who passed away at the venerable age of 97. For many years, he had been an employee of the Lazio Region, working in an office in Formia (Latina), a place he commuted to daily from the Aversa train station. He had been retired for about 5 years.
This news has shocked the community of Trentola Ducenta, especially the group of “Accollatori” of San Michele Arcangelo, of which he was a point of reference.
“I know that there are no words to alleviate, at least in part, this pain for your family and our entire community. Let us remain united in prayer. Goodbye Raffaele, may our good Lord embrace you and may the earth be light upon you,” writes journalist Franco Musto on social media, sharing a picture of Di Caprio with the Accollatori. – continues below –
“A pillar of the Celebrations Committee for forty years and a historical voice during the processions of his beloved San Michele. We will all miss his way of doing things and especially his voice: ‘Attention to the shoulders…’, ‘Attention to the forks…’. Have a good journey Rafè, may San Michele open the gates of Paradise for you. Rest in peace,” expresses the condolences message from the Celebrations Committee in honor of San Michele.
